U.S. Consumer Price Index Increases 0.1% in July

The CPI rose 0.1 percent last month after being unchanged in June. Year-on-year, the CPI has increased by 1.7 percent.
These numbers are slightly lower than estimates, which had forecasted a 0.2 percent rise for July, and a 1.8 percent climb year-over-year.
The core CPI, which strips out the volatile food and energy components, gained 0.1 percent for the fourth straight month.
