Third-Quarter GDP Revised Down
December 21, 2018
Economic growth in the third quarter was a bit slower than initially thought. Gross domestic product increased by 3.4 percent, according to the commerce department’s third reading, down slightly from October’s reading of 3.5 percent.
In comparison, the GDP grew by 4.2 percent in the second quarter. Despite this downward revision, and expectations that fourth-quarter growth may be slower, growth is on track to be above 3 percent for the year.
