Majority of Millennial Homeowners Regret Their Purchase
February 27, 2019
Saddled with student loan debt, and facing low availability and affordability, home ownership seems unattainable for many millennials. Unfortunately, a new survey shows that a large percentage of those who do manage to buy a home end up regretting it.
Bankrate.com found that 63 percent of millennial homeowners say they have buyer’s remorse. This more than any other age group, and nearly double the percentage of baby boomers who feel the same way.
The most common cause for regret is maintenance, as many of them have been shocked by the high cost of repairs and upkeep. Other factors are size, either too small or too large, and dissatisfaction with the neighborhood.
