Recession Fears Have Americans Hoarding Cash at Home
October 11, 2019
Growing concerns about the possibility of a recession have more Americans opting out of relying on their bank and keeping cash at home instead. A recent MetLife survey found that nearly one-fifth of Americans have started hiding cash in their homes. Additionally, 21 percent of respondents said they are getting more conservative with how they store and invest their money. Even those who have not pulled their money out yet are getting more nervous. The same survey found that 41 percent of Americans are more regularly checking on their investments due to fears of a market downturn.
