Global Business Outlook Sinks to Lowest Level Since the Financial Crisis

A pair of surveys show that the business outlook for the global economy is the gloomiest it has been in a decade. The IHS Markit global business, as well as the Ifo world economic outlook, have both fallen to the worst level since 2009.

The Markit survey found that optimism for employment, profits, and business activity were all at the lowest point since the financial crisis. The Ifo survey noted that the current situation of the world’s economy is unfavorable and singled out emerging markets as areas of weakness.
