High Net Worth Investors Are Confident in the Economy

The stock market just had its worst first quarter on record, but big investors are still showing high levels of optimism in both the market and economy. 

A new survey from UBS asked high net worth investors how they view the near-term and long-term prospects for the economy. A big majority, 69 percent, expect a recession in the next 12 months. Despite this, just 11 percent plan to decrease their investments. They have a negative outlook for the S&P 500 in the next few months, but nearly three-quarters see investment opportunities, even as the coronavirus continues to spread,

Nearly half expect the crisis to be over by June, and 77 percent describe themselves as optimistic in the long-term economy.
