Most Americans Will ‘Wait and See’ After Lockdown is Lifted

Governments around the world are grappling with when and how to lift social distancing guidelines and business closures. However, the vast majority of Americans plan to wait to return to normal activities, even after the government has given an all-clear

A recent poll from Gallup found that just 20% of Americans would resume normal activities immediately. The majority, 71% said they would “wait and see,” while an additional 10% would continue to limit their contact with others “indefinitely.”

The news is a disappointment for those hoping for an immediate recovery once the lockdown is lifted.
