Second-quarter GDP Holds Steady in Final Reading

The final reading of the GDP for the second quarter showed annualized growth of 4.2 percent. This number was unrevised from earlier estimates. Economists had expected a small upward revision to 4.3 percent. This marks the best performance since the third quarter of 2014.

GDP increased by 2.2 percent in the first quarter of the year. The Atlanta Fed is anticipating a 4.3 percent increase for Q3.
