Despite the increasing trade tensions between China and the U.S., America’s deficit with its trading partners remained largely unchanged in June. The month saw a $55.2 billion deficit, down just $200 million from the month before. Economists had anticipated a larger drop to $54.6 billion.
Exports fell 2.1 percent to $206.3 billion, the lowest level since December. The trade deficit with China was virtually unchanged at $30.2 billion.
